In a momentous match held in Istanbul on Saturday, Manchester City emerged victorious over Inter Milan, completing a historic treble. A single goal from Rodri sealed the fate of the game, crowning City as the champions of Europe. This triumph added to their already impressive collection of the Premier League title and the FA Cup, making it a near perfect season for the club. By achieving this feat, City joined the ranks of their crosstown rivals, Manchester United, who accomplished the same feat in 1999, becoming only the second English club to complete a treble.


In the aftermath of the hard-fought win, Manager Pep Guardiola expressed his fatigue but undeniable satisfaction with the team's performance. He commended Inter Milan for their strong display and acknowledged the role of luck in the Champions League. Guardiola further emphasized that the victory was destined for his team, as if it had been written in the stars.

"Tired. Calm. Satisfied. It's incredibly difficult to win this competition," said Guardiola, his emotions evident as he embraced each player and member of the club's hierarchy.

Guardiola admitted that Manchester City did not perform at their best in Istanbul, with Inter Milan creating several promising opportunities to score.

"We didn't reach our peak level today. However, since the World Cup, the team has taken a significant step forward and consistently performed well," commented Guardiola.

Looking ahead, Guardiola mentioned that he lacks the energy to contemplate the upcoming campaign, where Manchester City will strive for their fourth consecutive Premier League title. Additionally, they will begin as favorites to defend their Champions League crown.

"Thinking about next season is beyond my current capacity. We need a break; the season has been too demanding," expressed Guardiola.

He also highlighted the scheduling challenges faced by the players, as they have international games to participate in. Guardiola urged UEFA and FIFA to consider the strain this places on the players, who must swiftly transition from the Premier League to international competitions.

As Manchester City revels in their triumph, the focus now shifts to the forthcoming season, where they will start afresh, aiming to continue their successful journey.ś
